Today is cloudy with occasional light-to-moderate rain showers.
Tomorrow has scattered showers and some thunderstorms. Thunderstorms will be more likely in the Mississippi counties along with Washington, Clarke, and Monroe Counties in Alabama, so a Marginal Risk of severe thunderstorms will cover those areas. That’s an outlook meaning a small chance of thunderstorms could produce damaging winds, hail, or an isolated tornado. Outlooks are generalized looks ahead, not specific forecasts so don’t be surprised if or when the outlook changes.
Rainfall amounts of 1″ to 2″ are projected for areas west of Interstate 65, with less than 1″ to the east of I-65 by late tomorrow night.
Very heavy rain in northern Alabama, northern Mississippi, and in Tennessee could lead to some river flooding in the News 5 neighborhood by this weekend.
