MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — We’re tracking potential severe weather Tuesday night and into Wednesday. So are schools along the Gulf Coast.
Here we are keeping track of school schedule changes in response to the weather forecast. We will update this list as we learn more. Check back for updates.
Mobile County, Ala. Private Schools
UMS Wright Preparatory School: All after-school activities have been canceled Wednesday.
St. Luke’s Episcopal School: The Japonica Campus will dismiss at 2:45 p.m. The middle school party will end at 2 p.m.
Cottage Hill Christian Academy: All after-school activity has been canceled Wednesday.
St. Paul Episcopal School: All campus activity will end by 4:30 p.m.
Knollwood Christian Academy: The school and daycare will close at 2 p.m.
Faith Academy: All after-school activities have been canceled including detention.
University of South Alabama
The University of South Alabama will close Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. All non-essential personnel will be dismissed.
Spring Hill College
Spring Hill College will close Wednesday at 3 p.m.. SHC said normal operations will resume at 8 a.m. Thursday morning.
Archdiocese of Mobile
Catholic schools in Mobile and Baldwin counties will dismiss at 2 p.m. on Wednesday in anticipation of severe weather. All extracurricular and after-school activities are canceled.
Escambia County, Fla. Schools
Escambia County Public Schools will have no after-school activities on Wednesday due to severe weather. This includes all practices, games and extracurricular activities.
Mobile County, Ala. Public Schools
All Mobile County Public Schools will release an hour early due to severe weather coming to the area. Schools will be sending specific instructions about dismissals.
Baldwin County, Ala. Public Schools
The Baldwin County Public School System has announced all afternoon activities will be canceled on Wednesday, Dec. 14.
Bishop State Community College
All Bishop State Community College campuses will close at 1 p.m. Wednesday due to severe weather. All athletic events and evening events have also been canceled.
Coastal Alabama Community College
All Coastal Alabama Community College campuses will close at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday in anticipation of severe weather. On-campus final exams scheduled for Wednesday will be rescheduled.
Okaloosa, Fla. School District
All afterschool activities scheduled for after 6 p.m. are canceled in anticipation of possible severe weather. All activities before 6 p.m. will continue as scheduled, including extracurricular activities, daycare and tutoring.
Santa Rosa County, Fla. Schools
Santa Rosa County District Schools canceled all Wednesday after school activities in anticipation of severe weather. School and regularly scheduled activities will resume on Thursday.
Washington County, Ala. Schools
Washington County Schools will dismiss early Wednesday in anticipation of winds and heavy rain later in the day. Schools will dismiss at 12:45 p.m.. A school official said they could adjust dismissal time if the weather forecast changes.
Clarke County, Ala. Public Schools
Clarke County Public Schools will dismiss early Wednesday in anticipation of severe weather. Schools will dismiss at 11:30 a.m..
Thomasville City, Ala. Schools
Three Thomasville City Schools will dismiss early Wednesday in anticipation of severe weather. Thomasville Elementary will dismiss at 11:30 a.m.. Thomasville Middle and Thomasville High will both dismiss at 11:45 a.m.
Monroe County, Ala. Schools
Monroe County Schools will dismiss early Wednesday in anticipation of severe weather. All campuses will be dismissed at noon and all after-school activities are canceled, according to an official.
George County, Miss. Schools
George County Schools will dismiss early Wednesday in anticipation of severe weather. High school and middle school buses will begin dismissal at 1:00 p.m. Elementary schools will dismiss at around 1:15 p.m.
