Mobile, Ala. (WKRG) — The updated drought monitor is out, and with the beneficial rain we have seen over the past few weeks, our drought conditions have slightly improved.
As we move into our winter severe weather season, more rain is expected this time of year. As systems move into our area, they generally bring showers or storms. Thanks to beneficial rain that has fallen in our area over the past few weeks, our drought conditions have improved slightly. Most of our area is now under a severe drought with only parts of our area under an extreme drought.
The long term trend shows rain totals trending above average at the end of this year into early next year. Hopefully we will continue to chip away at our drought situation and see it improve over the next few months.
