MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) – The National Hurricane Center is now issuing advisories on Tropical Depression Twenty-Two.

The system is located in the Bay of Campeche in the Southern Gulf of Mexico. The depression is forecast to become Tropical Storm Beta today as it moves northeast. The storm will likely slow down and turn west toward the Texas gulf coast. Hurricane status is possible by Sunday.

The long range forecast is somewhat uncertain, but we will keep you updated.
