Update: Congressman Matt Gaetz spoke with the media directly after his radio town hall early Monday morning. When asked about getting cleared by the Florida Barr after the Michael Cohan tweet, Gaetz said we can all do better on social media.

“There have been so many times where I have sent a tweet and had to apologize for it.” Gaetz said. “I’m glad in this case my apology was accepted and there won’t be any professional consequences for me and my colleagues.”

Gaetz was then asked about the assault from June of this year. Amanda Kondrat’Yev is accused of throwing a drink on Gaetz’s back as he was leaving a town hall at Brew Ha Ha in Pensacola.

“No one will ever be aloud to break the peace at any open Gaetz day or a place where I invite constituents and if anyone does break the peace, like that woman that through that drink, they will be prosecuted to the highest extent of the law.”

PENSACOLA, Fla. (WKRG) — Congressman Matt Gaetz will host a town hall event on the radio this morning. It starts at 7 a.m. and will last for an hour. Locals with questions or concerns for the congressman can call or text 850- 437-1620.
