UPDATE 11:41 AM: Paul Burch with the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office says Sunday morning’s shooting in Grand Bay may be a case of self-defense. Burch says the person who was shot initiated the shooting and describes this as a dispute between neighbors and both were armed.
Burch says there are witnesses who say the shooter was urinating in the street and there are others who say he was urinating on the property of the man who was shot. They will sit down with the DA’s office to determine if charges on either side of this dispute will be filed.
This started after a homeowner confronted a man urinating on or near his property Sunday morning. This escalated from an argument to gunfire. The homeowner who was shot was flown to a Pensacola Hospital and, according to his girlfriend, is expected to be okay.
