Excel Police: Man shoots brother to death Friday night in alcohol-fueled fight

UPDATE: 10:50 AM: Excel Police Chief Mike West says a man shot his brother to death in an alcohol-fueled argument. It happened Friday night at around 9 on Halls Crossroads Road. The chief says Shea Alvin Manning shot his brother Jonathan Manning at close range with a handgun. West says both men were intoxicated.

Police say Jonathan Manning was alive when medics arrived but passed away where the shooting happened outside of a home. Shea Alvin Manning was taken to the Monroe County Detention Facility and charged with murder. The investigation is ongoing.

ORIGINAL STORY: EXCEL, Ala. (WKRG) – An investigation is underway after a man allegedly shoots and kills his own brother. According to Monroe County Sheriff Tom Boatwright, the shooting happened Friday night in Excel.
