2,300 without power due to Citronelle transformer fire

CITRONELLE, Ala. (WKRG) — A transformer caught fire in Citronelle Tuesday afternoon causing 2,300 customers to lose power in the area.

Alabama Power says weather may be a factor. There is also electrical damage to the substation.

Crews are making temporary repairs. Alabama Power says service should be restored within an hour, around 5 p.m.
