It’s been a tough year for this deputy but Deshone Holloway says he’s learned a lot in that time.  Holloway says he returned to active duty in January.  In July 2017 he began driving after a suspect’s vehicle but crashed in his patrol car near the Alabama/Mississippi state line.  Holloway was critically injured in that accident.  He says he’s been a long journey to get to where he is now.

“I thank all the doctors and first of all the good Lord allowing me to see this day, all the support and prayers I got from the community and county.  Well it made me appreciate every day, seeing another day,” said Washington County Chief Deputy Deshone Holloway.  Holloway says he’s grateful for the support of his family, fellow deputies and the sheriff during a very difficult time.  Holloway says they never found the original driver he was chasing.
