UPDATE: Convicted murderer recaptured after fleeing Montgomery facility

Alabama Department of Corrections says an inmate who escaped a work release facility in Montgomery has been recaptured. 

47-year-old Jimmy Lee Hill fled the facility around 6:00 p.m. Saturday, December 23.

Hill was recaptured and surrendered without violence in Enterprise, Alabama on Sunday.

The Alabama Department of corrections is looking for a convicted murderer who escaped a work release facility in Montgomery.  ALDOC sent a news release Saturday night saying they’re looking for 47-year-old Jimmy Lee Hill.  The release says he escaped at 6 PM Saturday evening at the Red Eagle Work Center in Montgomery.

Hill is described as a black man, standing 5-feet 10-inches tall and weighing 182 pounds.  He was convicted of murder in 1993 out of Jefferson County and sentenced to life in prison.  Anyone with information is asked to contact ALDOC or their local police department or sheriff’s office.
