Tour bus from Alabama crashes on icy road in Mississippi killing two, injuring dozens

Today at approximately 12:35pm, a south bound tour bus with 46 occupants crashed on I-269 in Desoto County, MS. The bus was traveling from Huntsville, AL, to Tunica, MS.

As result of this crash there were 44 injuries and two fatalities. The injured were taken to a several different hospitals in the area with a wide variety of injuries.

The cause of this crash is weather related. 

Anniston-based tour bus company Teague VIP Express confirms that they are responding to the scene of the crash.

A person who answered the phone at the company reportedly said, “We are concerned about our passengers.”

We have a crew headed to the scene and will bring you more as it becomes available.

DESOTO COUNTY, Miss. (localmemphis.com) – Two people are dead and several others injured after a tour bus crashed in DeSoto County, Mississippi.

It happened just before 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at I-269 and Highway 78. We are told about 50 people were on board at the time. Two people were killed, and several others injured. We are told some of those injuries are severe.

We have a crew headed to the scene and will bring you more as it becomes available.
