One dead, one injured after stabbing in George County

GEORGE COUNTY, Miss. (WKRG) —

UPDATE (11/20) — The George County Sheriff’s Office has identified the person killed in a stabbing Tuesday evening. Deputies say they received a 911 call about a fight taking place at the 200 block of Broome School Road in the Broome School Community.

Deputies say two men were stabbed. Stephen Tyler Dean, 28, was pronounced dead on the scene, deputies say. Another victim, Robert Dewayne Ellett, 30, was taken to the hospital and treated for his injuries and is in stable condition.

Hanson Louis Gomez, 20, was arrested and charged with manslaughter and is being held in the George County Regional Correctional Facility. His bond has been set to $150,000 for manslaughter and $75,000 for aggravated assault.

ORIGINAL STORY: An EMS crew says one person is dead and another person is injured after a stabbing Tuesday evening.

The person injured is being transported to University Hospital.

George County officials say more information will be released Wednesday morning.
