Welcome to WKRG’s “Mark your Calendar” for Tuesday, September 11th, 2018, with Taylor Sarallo.
Joining us today is Ed Bushaw from the South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce and we are talking about the 7th Annual Festival of Flavor.
The FESTIVAL OF FLAVOR is a food & beverage tasting event and it is happening on Saturday, October 6th, 2018, on the streets of downtown Foley, Alabama. Just one block off of highway 98 and 59. This annual event is put on by the South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce.
Local Chefs and restaurants will be preparing unique dishes. Festival guests can stroll the streets of Downtown Foley while sipping and savoring the unique specialty wines, craft beer and delectable cuisine. If you are afraid to mis the big game, giant screens will be on site playing your favorite SEC Football teams.
Festival of Flavor has been named as a PREFERRED QUALIFYING FESTIVAL for a GOLDEN TICKET to the WORLD FOOD CHAMPIONSHIPS that will be held in November at The Wharf in Orange Beach. The festival will offer sample tastes, not only from the Chefs competing for a Golden Ticket, but also from Local breweries, wineries, restaurants, mom-and-pop shops and so much more. The Festival of Flavor will host its own competition for People’s Choice and the winner will receive over $1,000 in cash and prizes.
There is a $75.00 entry fee to compete in the World Food Championships. The fee will be waived for any restaurants or chefs that want to come to support the event and promote their business by giving away samples.
In 2017, guests traveled to the Festival Of Flavor from from all over the gulf coast and locations such as Houston, Baton Rouge and Metairie, Louisiana.
