Gas prices continue to creep up, and now they’re reaching their highest point since 2014. National average prices reached $2.90 for unleaded Wednesday for the first time since June, rising 6 cents over the past month.
Locally, gas goes for around $2.60 a gallon in the Mobile area. Gas prices are rising globally thanks to a strengthening world economy and international politics causing a boost in crude oil prices.
According to GasBuddy.com, Alabama remains as one of the states with the lowest prices, averaging $2.60 per gallon, behind Mississippi and South Carolina at $2.59 and $2.58 respectively.
