WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ala. (WKRG) News 5 has confirmed with Washington County Sheriff Richard Stringer that the owner of Chatom Fitness Center in Chatom, Alabama was arrested over the weekend.

Thomas Lee Moss is charged with domestic violence strangulation, domestic violence, unlawful imprisonment and child endangerment.

A copy of a portion of the police report filed Saturday says Moss arrived at his home on Cripple Hill Road around 9 pm and accused his wife of cheating. The report says he began to attack his wife in front of their child. Then his wife and child tried to leave the home, and he allegedly forced them back inside injuring the child as the child hit its head on a door.

The report goes on to say Moss told the child “Me and your mama are both going to die today, and somebody else is going to raise you!”

Then Moss allegedly strangled his wife before grabbing a rifle and repeatedly pointing it at her and pulling the trigger. The rifle did not go off.

His wife then ran to the bathroom to get away but Moss allegedly grabbed her to pull her out but she hit her head causing her to black out. At that point, the police report says, a law enforcement officer showed up at the house.

During the incident, their child was able to run away to a neighbor’s house for help.

Moss expected to appear in court Tuesday afternoon for a bond hearing.

Sheriff Stringer confirms Moss owns Chatom Fitness Center on Stephen’s Avenue with his wife.

A search of Moss’s criminal history shows some drug charges and traffic violations.
