HUNTSVILLE, Ala (WKRG) – The family of a Huntsville teacher is asking teachers in Alabama public schools to donate sick days to allow him to spend time with his sick daughter.
David Green, a football coach at Mae Jemison High School, frequently drives from Huntsville to Birmingham where his 10-month-old daughter, Kinsley, is being treated for B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.
Green’s wife posted a request on Facebook asking teachers in the state to donate a sick day.
“David is officially out of sick days at work,” Megan Green wrote on Facebook. “Kinsley is the biggest daddy’s girl and needs him to be here as often as he can, so she would be so thankful for any donated days so she can spend time with her daddy.”
Kinsley’s treatment is expected to continue through the end of the summer and possibly into the beginning of next school year.
