“It’s been a really fun journey, it’s been such a great time getting so close to these girls,” said McGill-Toolen pitcher Caroline Elliot. “They’re basically my second family now.”
When Caroline Elliot is on the diamond with her second family, she’s not far from her real family.
“It’s not too different than home, I still get to boss here around a little bit,” joked Paige Elliot.
Caroline is the ace of the Yellow Jackets pitching staff, and one of her coaches is her sister Paige.
“She’s really helpful. Sometimes we bicker here and there, but also there’s friendly competition too,” said Caroline
Now Paige was a catcher for McGill a few years ago, now she’s helping her sister realize her dreams on the diamond.
“The older we’ve gotten our relationship has really brought us together and we have a strong bond now. It’s so cool to watch her grow now as a player and person,” said Paige.
Softball has also helped strengthen the bond between the sisters.
“She’s definitely been a big part of my journey, she inspires me. She herself actually played college softball. That helped me get a little insight into what that’s like. It really motivated me to go out and explore colleges and see what I could do. She sets the example of what I hope to be one day,” said Caroline.
