“Just all the hard work man I put in growing up. Being outside playing with my dad in the heat,” said Bubba Thompson. “Starting in middle school and ending my career at McGill-Toolen, I had wonderful coaches. They put you in the best position to succeed like I did. But it’s not over yet. I’m still striving to be the best man and hopefully God has a plan for me.”
Mobile’s Bubba Thompson just finished his first, full season of professional baseball.
He hit .289, knocked in 42 RBI’s and scored 52 runs. His first full season of Single-A baseball taught him a lot on and off the field.
“What I would take from it, get your body ready everyday. You have 140 games to get through, you just need to keep your body healthy. You need to eat right and get extra sleep. It’s an everyday thing,” said Thompson.
A 2017 first round pick of the Texas Rangers, Bubba is ready for his second crack at Spring Training.
“I love it man, I get antsy sitting around at home,” said Thompson. “I love for the Spring Training bell to ring.”
