Final: Clemson dethrones Alabama 44-16 in National Championship

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (WIAT) — Alabama and Clemson will meet in the College Football Playoff for the fourth straight season, playing for the championship for the third time. 

Both No. 1 Alabama and  No. 2 Clemson are looking to execute a perfect season as both remain undefeated.

Saban and Swinney are no strangers when it comes to National title meetings. The teams met in 2016 when Alabama won 45-40 and 2017 when Clemson claimed the win 35-31. In 2018, Alabama won the National Championship against Georgia 26-23 when Tua Tagovailoa won the game in the last minutes. With both teams’ eyes on the prize, the 2019 championship is up for grabs.

The National Championship kicks off at 7 p.m. CT at Levi’s Stadium.
