SANTA CLARA, Calif. (WIAT) — Alabama and Clemson will face off in the National Championship Monday, but before kickoff, both coaches spoke in a press conference about what lies ahead as both teams prepare for the biggest game of the season.

Both No. 1 Alabama and  No. 2 Clemson are looking to execute a perfect season as both remain undefeated. In Sunday’s press conference, the coaches talked about preparations made to claim the title.

“We make every game the biggest game of the year,” Swinney said. “Even against East Aboga State.”

Saban mentioned keeping a competitive mentality among his team. He said he tries to get his players to play to a standard and be the best version of themselves.

“To be a great competitor, you’ve got to overcome adversity,” Saban said.

Saban and Swinney are no strangers when it comes to National title meetings. The teams met in 2016 when Alabama won 45-40 and 2017 when Clemson claimed the win 35-31. In 2018, Alabama won the National Championship against Georgia 26-23 when Tua Tagovailoa won the game in the last minutes. With both teams’ eyes on the prize, the 2019 championship is up for grabs.
