LOXLEY, Ala (WKRG) — It’s hard to get one over on Loxley Police Officer Chris Warren, February’s “Smiles Behind the Shield” honoree.
He’s been a volunteer fire chief, did two tours in Iraq and for the last three years, he’s patrolled the streets of Loxley as a police officer. “Once it’s in the blood you have it in you, you’re going to constantly do it.”
On March 13th, 2018, there was no better person to be first on the scene on Interstate 10 when a charter bus carrying more than 40 band students careened into a 70 foot ravine, killing the driver and injuring dozens. “it was pitch black, freezing cold and you hear the children scream and we worked our way down there, they kept coming to us saying they needed help.”
Describe Chris Warren and you come up with words like dedication, experience, driven to help others
and the first to shift attention away from himself.
Congratulations Chris Warren for a job well done.
