CRESTVIEW, Fla. (WKRG) — A woman has been charged with driving under the influence and child neglect after she ran a deputy off the road and had two children in the truck with her, according to officials.
Felicia Freeman, 32, of Baker, was driving on Airport Road near Wayne Rogers Road around 4:30 Saturday when the truck she was in crossed into the other lane almost hitting an Okaloosa County deputy head-on.
The deputy was forced off the road and said the woman took no action to try to prevent a crash. The deputy pulled her over and reported smelling alcohol and after a field sobriety test, she was arrested.
She had two juveniles in the truck and the deputy said an unbuckled seven-year-old was riding in a lawn chair, according to the report.
Authorities say Freeman’s breath sample indicated a blood alcohol level nearly twice the legal limit.
She is out of jail on a $7,000 bond waiting to go before a judge.
