WALTON COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) — A chase involving a stolen vehicle ended in dramatic fashion on Friday.
Dash camera video released Monday by the Walton County Sheriff’s Office shows a stolen Chevy Trailblazer swerving to avoid spike strips and then flipping several times before coming to a rest on the side of Highway 90 near Linda Lane.
The two suspects in the SUV — 19-year-old Morgan Markward and 19-year-old Justice Kelley — were both injured and hospitalized.
According to the sheriff’s office, this all began when the suspects were spotted in a Buick stolen from Crestview. They were seen at the Love’s Travel Stop in Walton County, and that’s where deputies say they stole the Chevy, which was left running at a pump.
At first, investigators did not believe Kelley was involved in the car theft. By the time they connected him, Kelley had helped Markward leave the hospital. Both are now being sought on charges of grand theft auto and fleeing and eluding.
