VIDEO: OCSO deputies, local firefighters rescue women trapped in burning home

FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. (WKRG) — Fort Walton Beach firefighters and the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office responded to a house fire early Thursday morning. 

The Fort Walton Beach Fire Department says they responded to a vacant home on fire with possible entrapment. 

Upon arrival, Okaloosa County deputies were found speaking with a woman trapped in a room on the back part of the house. Deputies were also trying to remove boards from the window near where the woman was trapped. 

Firefighters were able to break into the home and save the woman who was trapped under debris. 

Body cam video shows OCSO deputies working to remove the woman from the home. 

The sheriff’s office reports two people were treated for smoke inhalation.

Ocean City Wright Fire units also assisted.
