PENSACOLA, Fla. (WKRG)
UPDATE (4:02 p.m. Friday) Pensacola Police have identified the person killed in the crash on the Three Mile Bridge Thursday. Police say 50-year old Kimberly Suzanne Story, of Pensacola, was killed in the crash. Investigators say Story was driving northbound in the southbound lane early Thursday morning when her vehicle collided with an oncoming vehicle. Story’s daughter, 23-year old Ann Marie Lloyd Lisle and a friend, 23-year old Austin Alan Bayless, were also seriously injured in the crash.
21-year old Kareem Trea Terry, of Canton, Georgia, was driving the other vehicle. He was airlifted to the hospital. 21-year old Tyler McGowan was also in the car with Terry. He was not seriously injured.
Investigators say alcohol was a factor when Story caused the accident.
UPDATE (12:11 a.m.) Pensacola Police say they are no longer looking for the person that left the scene of the accident on foot. That person is the one who called police. Police are working to determine who had alcohol in their system, and who was in which car.
UPDATE (7:00 a.m.) Pensacola Police say the accident on the Three Mile Bridge was a head-on collision with a wrong way driver. They are still looking for the person that left the scene.
UPDATE (6:30 a.m.) All lanes of the Three Mile Bridge have reopened following a fatal crash early this morning.
UPDATE (6:09 a.m.) Pensacola police confirm one person was killed in a crash early Thursday morning on the Three Mile Bridge. Three people were injured.
Authorities believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
One passenger ran from the scene.
Police expect the southbound lanes of the bridge to reopen by 7 a.m.
A major crash shutdown the Three Mile Bridge in Pensacola early Thursday morning.
The northbound lanes of the bridge reopened around 5:15 a.m.; southbond lanes are still closed.
