UPDATE 12:30 P.M. 9/7/2018

Michael Olson has been captured in Dothan, Alabama.

OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) — An escaped inmate from Holmes County, Florida could be traveling through the Panhandle.

Michael Jeffrey Scott Olson, who also goes by the name Michael Aaron Stephens, was arrested Wednesday for child sexual battery but escaped from the Holmes County jail.

The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office says the arrest was in connection with the sexual battery of a girl in Crestview on August 29.

After his escape, Olson was spotted at a Tom Thumb store off I-10 in Bonifay, where investigators believe he caught a ride with two people in a dark-colored truck pulling a trailer with a green van on it.

Investigators on Friday released surveillance photos of the two people who gave Olson a ride.

The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office said it’s possible Olson could be traveling west through the county.

Anyone who knows where Olson might be, or who can help identify the people in the surveillance photo, is asked to call 911.
