ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) — A train collided with an SUV on County Road 95A in Escambia County Florida Friday evening, dragging the vehicle one mile before it came to a stop.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a Toyota Highlander was traveling northbound on County Road 95, also known as North Palafox Street, near Kingsfield Road. FHP says the car turned on to Kingsfield to cross the railroad tracks when the crossing bar came down on top of the roof of the vehicle as it stopped inside the crossing.

FHP says the CSX train conductor attempted to slow down the train, but was unable to. The train crashed into the SUV dragging it about one mile north of the collision before coming to a stop.

Florida troopers say no injuries were reported.

The driver of the SUV is charged with driving around, under or through a railroad crossing.
