UPDATE(6/19/21 12:15 PM) — The I-10 Escambia Bay Bridge has reopened. The bridge was closed this morning due to high winds from Tropical Storm Claudette.
(WKRG) — The I-10 Escambia Bay Bridge closed Saturday morning due to high winds as Tropical Storm Claudette moves across the region. The closure comes after an 18-wheeler flipped onto its side on the bridge.
Westbound traffic is being diverted at Avalon Blvd. to Highway 90 to Scenic Highway. The detour for eastbound traffic will begin at Scenic Highway to Hwy. 90 to Avalon Blvd.
Damage reports are coming in from Northwest Florida including damage to multiple homes in Pensacola and Pace.
