NICEVILLE, Fla. (WKRG) — The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office says a 14-year-old student brought a loaded firearm to Ruckel Middle School Tuesday.

Deputies say they got a tip a student may have a gun on school grounds. They pulled the student from class for a safety pat down and found the loaded handgun in his backpack.

It is not clear if the student showed the weapon or threatened anyone at school.

The student may also be a suspect in a theft.
