PENSACOLA, Fla. (WKRG) — The Pensacola International Airport, along with the Blue Wahoos and Silver Airways showcased a new plane today with the Wahoos logo on it.
Airport Director Dan Flynn says he wants to do everything he can to promote Pensacola and bring more people through the airport and the area.
Silver Airways just started non-stop flights from Pensacola to Orlando, Ft. Lauderdale and Tampa. Flynn says there are a record number of people using the airport this year, and he hopes that trend will continue with the new flights and Blue Wahoos plane.
Flynn says the new plane is a good representation of what Pensacola has to offer. Passengers who just flew in from Orlando say it’s a great idea.
“Not many people know about the Blue Wahoos but now they will,” one passenger said. “There’s going to be a lot more people coming to Pensacola, not just for the beach.”
Flynn says he’s looking at expanding the services with Silver Airways, but he can not announce anything just yet.
