VIDEO: PPD needs help solving Torres Avenue shooting

PENSACOLA, Fla. (WKRG) — Pensacola police say a man who was shot in the neck on Torres Avenue Thursday afternoon is in stable condition after having surgery.

The victim was taken to Sacred Heart Hospital and dropped off by someone unknown. Police are looking for that person. Officers found the driver’s car, a black Cadillac SUV, located at a house in the 3200 block of Torres Avenue Thursday night.

Officials aren’t sure if the driver and the shooter are the same person.

Officer Mike Wood said they are hoping people in the community will come forward to help them solve this case.

“We’ve seen a lot of this lately,” Wood said. “People are taking their communities back. They’re calling us and letting us know things. We certainly would like to see that happen here on Torres Avenue. If you know anything give us a call. You don’t have to say who you are. We don’t want to know who you are. Just let us know the information we need so we can get these people put in jail where they belong.”

If you can help police, you’re asked to call Crime Stoppers at (850) 433-STOP.
