There was a lot of excitement on Pensacola Beach Friday as the Blue Angels soared above the pier.
The C130 Fat Albert opened Friday’s dress rehearsal. At times, the planes dipped so low to the ground it looked as if they would hit it.
Sometimes the six Blue Angels flew together, and then they would split up to do different maneuvers.
People came from all over the country just to get a glimpse.
“It was just awesome,” Angie Stansberry said. “They are the epitome of the military. They’re just great we drove all the way from Atlanta today to see them.”
“To see everybody excited and cheering for them, to see them flying is awesome,” Josie Keck said.
It’s not just residents and tourists excited about the show, businesses say this is a huge weekend for them. Over at The Dock, General Manager Bruce Parris says they are prepping for huge crowds.
“It’s probably fifty percent over the top of what we usually do,” Parris said. “We are usually busy anyway but the Blue Angels increase it.”
The show starts at 2pm Saturday.
