PENSACOLA, Fla. (WKRG) — A Pensacola veteran has a new roof because of a national program that helps people who fought for our country.

It’s a partnership between Purple Heart Homes and Owens Corning Roof Development Project.

Veteran Arthur Keller served in the army from 1965-1968 in the Hercules Missile Program.

He says a new roof would cost him about fifteen thousand dollars that he could not afford. Tadlock Roofing provided the crew to fix Keller’s roof. The materials came from Owens Corning.

Since 2016 the program has helped over 100 veterans get new roofs.

“I think this is fantastic, giving back to the community,” Keller said. “I absolutely appreciate everything they’re doing.”
