PENSACOLA, Fla. (WKRG) — An Escambia County Sheriff’s Deputy was injured when a man ran a red light and crashed into his vehicle early Sunday morning.

Deputies say on May 26, 50-year-old Juan Jose H. Fajardo of Pensacola was traveling south on Pine Forest Road when he ran a red light at Wilde lake Boulevard. Deputy Tungol was crossing the intersection when Fajardo ran the light causing the two to crash. Fajardo ran from the scene but was later located and detained. Fajardo is being charged with leaving the scene with minor injuries, no driver’s license, and failed to stop at a steady red signal.

Deputy Tungol was taken to Baptist Hosptial where she was treated for minor injuries.
