PENSACOLA, Fla. (WKRG) — A Pensacola man came home from a night of drinking downtown to find a strange woman inside his apartment, according to police.

Police were called out to an apartment on Davis Highway on May 12 in reference to a victim finding a woman in his living room.

The woman was identified as 24-year-old  Alyssa Vaughn, who told officers her friend lived there and left the sliding glass door open for her to wash her laundry. The officer noticed Vaughn did not have any clothing or detergent with her. Vaughn gave officers conflicting statements about where her clothes were. The victim did not have a washer or dryer in his apartment. Vaughn was put in handcuffs because of her suspicous behavior. She also told police a neighbor would be able to confirm her story, but that neighbor said he did not know her.

The victim told police that two of his guns were missing from the closet. The guns were found in separate places that the victim did not put them in. Police say Vaughn most likely heard the victim when he came home that night and hid his guns.

Vaughn was charged with burglary and grand theft of a firearm.
