One month after deadly hit and run suspect still on the loose

Northwest Florida

It’s been one month since the deadly hit and run that took the lives of an eight-month-old baby and 28-year-old woman. Police say they are still actively searching for suspect Markquise Wallace.

In the month since the hit and run, police have arrested Tadrian Rushing for allegedly hiding Wallace’s getaway car under a tarp.

Pensacola Police said there could be more people helping Wallace.

“If we find out that you are harboring him or assisting him in anyway, we will prosecute you,” Chief Tommi Lyter said.

Residents in the area say they just want justice.

“He killed two innocent people,” Ilisha Jones said. “Especially that baby. He could at least turn himself in and let the family get some closure.”

Pensacola Police say they are using federal resources to find Wallace. Residents like Jones say they can’t believe anyone would hide him.

“I feel like the situation is really messed up,” Jones said. “They are helping him and he’s still on the run.”

If you have any information on Wallace’s whereabouts call the Pensacola Police.
