Okaloosa County Public Safety Director resigns

Okaloosa County Public Safety Director Alvin Henderson announced his resignation Tuesday morning to the County Administrator and the Board of County Commissioners, according to a press release to News 5.

Stefan Vaughn, Department of Corrections Director, will take over the responsibilities of Public Safety and serve as Director of both areas.  According to the Board of County Commissioners, they have full confidence in Director Vaughn to lead the combined department due to his extensive operational and emergency management experience during his time with the Okaloosa Department of Corrections and the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office.

In a press release, the Board thanks Mr. Henderson for his service to the people of Okaloosa County.
