The man who drowned Friday in the Gulf of Mexico has been identified as 63-year old Rogelio Moreno Gaitan of Lawrenceville, Georgia, according to OCSO. Family member says he had been swimming by himself.

DESTIN, Fla. (WKRG) — Less than a week after a 65-year-old man from Jackson, Mississippi drowned in the Gulf of Mexico in Destin, a second person has been pulled lifeless from the water near the Okaloosa/Walton County line.
Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office deputies say surfers spotted a man floating face down about 4:45 p.m. thirty to forty yards offshore of a restaurant at 3796 Scenic Highway 98. He was pulled from the water and Destin Beach Safety workers immediately began lifesaving measures but were unsuccessful.
