OCSO helps Coast Guard towing recreational boat

Northwest Florida

Okaloosa County, Fla. (WKRG) — It’s a great weekend for taking the boat on the water but watch out for high winds. This is a video posted by the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office Saturday.  They say the vessel High Cotton called mayday due to lost steering at the mouth of the East Pass.  High winds were also pushing the boat.

The OCSO says their marine unit secured the vessel until the Coast Guard got there to tow the boat to safety.  If the boat was left adrift, the post says they worried it could end up on the rocks nearby.
