A Niceville teen has died after being critically injured in a skateboard accident last Thursday.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, 17-year-old Kenneth Alan Moss Jr. was at the top of a hill on 20th Street near Pine Avenue when he grabbed onto a Ford Edge to gain a speed boost and pushed himself down the hill.

FHP officials say after traveling about 400 feet down the hill, Moss lost his balance and fell from his skateboard onto the pavement. They say he was not wearing any safety equipment at the time.

The teen was brought to Fort Walton Beach Medical Center, listed in critical condition with life-threatening injuries from the fall, the accident report states.

A family friend created a GoFundMe account the day after Kenneth’s accident Thursday, but was updated Tuesday to say that he had died from his injuries.

The page says the teen was supposed to graduate that evening from Niceville High School. It also says  Kenny loved music and was a talented guitarist and singer.

A Celebration of life for Kenny Moss is scheduled for Thursday, May 31, 2018 at 1:00 pm , with visitation from 12:00-1:00 pm at Crosspoint, Niceville campus sanctuary. Reception following the service in the Fellowship Hall. The Burial will be a private service for family only.
