PENSACOLA, Fla. (WKRG) — News 5 has obtained the arrest report for a man who was shot by deputies in Pensacola Sunday afternoon.
Jerome Berry, 19, was arrested for an outstanding domestic violence by strangulation warrant and charged with assault on an officer and resisting officers.
Four deputies went to serve the warrant at a house in the 1200 block of Albuquerque Circle but Berry tried to escape through the back of the house through the bathroom window but was confronted by Deputy Glaze.
The deputy gave loud verbal commands but Berry kept running refusing to show his hands and reaching in a pocket which made the deputy fear for his life believing a threat was imminent.
The deputy fired his weapon and struck Berry in the right shoulder and took Berry into custody. His bond is set at $100,000.
The Florida Dept of Law Enforcement is investigating.
