Deputies with the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office say a man was arrested for stabbing his girlfriend’s estranged husband with a knife.

35-year old Alejandro Jose Flores went with his girlfriend, April Griffin, to a prearranged child custody exchange Sunday, July 22 when he got into a fight with her estranged husband, Brent Griffin. Deputies say Flores pulled a knife and slashed Brent Griffin across his chest, the left side of his neck up to his ear, and his upper left arm. Brent Griffin received sixty staples to close the wound on his chest, according to a press release from OCSO.

April Griffin was also injured with cuts across her forehead, right arm, and left wrist. She told deputies her estranged husband attacked her and Flores with a knife, but video and witness statements backed up Brent Griffin’s account of the incident, according to OCSO.

Flores is charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
