WEST PENSACOLA, Fla. (WKRG) — Firefighters put out flames at a house in West Pensacola just as the call was coming into 911.

Escambia County firefighters were nearby and saw smoke and went straight to a house at 4501 Lillian Highway in Escambia County. Most of the damage appeared to be on the back side of the house.

Residents inside were able to get out safely. Once on scene, one firefighter was sent to a local hospital after hurting his ankle.

The state fire marshal has been called in to investigate how the fire started.
