UPDATE: 19-year-old killed after losing control of her car in bad weather conditions

ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) — UPDATE (6:35 p.m.): Florida Highway Patrol say a 19-year-old woman was killed when she lost control of her car and crashed her car into a boulder on the side of the road.

Troopers say Allanah Simmons, of Milton, was traveling east on Detroit Boulevard at 11:40 a.m. Saturday. Because of the weather, she lost control of her Mitsubishi Lancer, east of Kingfisher Way, resulting in the Mitsubishi to spin clockwise and travel off-road, striking a boulder on the side of the road.

Simmons was transported to Sacred Heart Hospital in critical condition. She succumbed to her injuries at 12:32 p.m.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol live traffic report, a fatal car accident happened on Detroit Boulevard near Blue Jay Way Saturday.

Florida Highway Patrol arrived on the scene at 12:51 p.m.
