PENSACOLA, Fla. (WKRG) — A man and woman are in jail after officials say a woman lured a man to her apartment then planned to have a friend rob him on December 7.
The victim was visiting a woman at Regency Oaks Apartments on Tippin Avenue. Around 9:30 p.m., unknown black men in a black car pulled up and started hitting him telling him to hand over the keys to his tan 2001 Buick. They couldn’t get the keys but stole his cell phone. The victim says he looked up and a man was pointing a gun at him so he got up and ran to Pensacola Hookah Lounge to call 911 and heard a gunshot as he was running.
Deputies say the victim had blood on his face, nose and lip and a cut on his knee.
The victim had met Rebecca Cooley on a dating app, “Tagged.” The arrest report states he was there to meet Cooley but he only stayed for 30 minutes and gave her $20 to buy diapers. While he was outside leaving, the black car pulled up and he was robbed. He told deputies he could hear Rebecca saying “go through his pockets.”
Ellery Laster Jr. was arrested and charged with robbery with a firearm, aggravated battery and criminal mischief. His bond is $610,000. Cooley’s bond is set at $100,000 and she’s charged with principal to robbery with a firearm.
The report states Cooley had been in contact with Laster through text messaging prior to the incident.
