ECSO: Man beats, chokes woman and then steals phone so she can’t call 911

ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) — Deputies are turning to the public for help to find a man wanted for allegedly choking his girlfriend to the point that she lost consciousness.

If he’s arrested, Larry Lydell Saulsberry Jr. is facing charges that would include aggravated battery, domestic violence and grand theft.

According to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, the victim said Saulsberry struck her multiple times and choked her after she refused to let him drive her car.

The alleged incident happened July 15 at around 8:00 p.m. on the 3600 block of N. Hayne Street.

Deputies said Saulsberry also stole the woman’s phone to prevent her from calling 911 for help.
