WALTON COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) –The Walton County Sheriff’s Office is looking for the owner for a dog found with a carabiner pierced through its neck.  According to the Sheriff’s website, animal control officers were called to a home on Dogwood Road in Defuniak Springs on July 19th by a caller who found the yellow lab under his home.  

The dog has been recovering at Alaqua Animal Refuge where a doctor removed the carabiner.

The sheriff doesn’t believe the injuries happened by accident and the Alaqua Animal Refuge is offering a five-hundred-dollar reward for information leading to an arrest.
