PENSACOLA, Fla. (WKRG) — Thousands of bikers spent the weekend at Pensacola Beach. And they brought their families. Many of the bikers had their children with them, from little kids to teens.

Panama City Beach is typically home for the Thunder Beach Motorcycle Rally but after Hurricane Michael, all events had to be canceled there. Organizers are hoping to raise thousands of dollars for hurricane disaster relief.

This was the 18th year for the Autumn Rally.

Joe Biggs has a house in Panama City and he is the president of Thunder Beach Productions. He says Visit Pensacola approached him about moving it here instead of just canceling the event.

“You can drive in any neighborhood in Panama City and you’ll see trees crushing homes,” Biggs said. “It’s absolutely horrendous.”

All of the money raised will go to the United Way.

Many people who attended the rally say it’s high time the area had its own big annual motorcycle rally because of the great weather, the beaches and the great people.
