Deputy hits pedestrian improperly crossing the road

JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) — A man is in serious condition after a deputy hit him with his unmarked patrol car. 

Florida Highway Patrol says Lt. Quinton S. Hollis of Marianna, Florida was driving westbound on State Road 10. 19-year-old Kevionte M. Webb of Tallahassee, Florida was in the inside lane near the yellow painted fog line wearing dark colored clothes and was “improperly located in the roadway” when he was hit, according to the accident report. Webb was taken to Flowers Hospital and is listed in serious condition. 

The incident happened on Thursday, May 30 around 3:20 a.m.

Lt. Hollis continued traveling westbound in the inside lane then realized he hit something and returned to the scene. 

No further information has been released.
