ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla.(WKRG) — Escambia County Deputies say a homeless man entered a home without permission, stole a knife from the kitchen, and threatened the family when they asked him to leave.

Deputies say on Friday, 27-year-old Demarre’ Proctor was caught leaving the home when law enforcement pulled up. The arrest report says Proctor then ran back into the residence. A female victim was seen running out of the home, and she told deputies there were still three other people inside with Proctor and they could not leave.

The victim told deputies that Proctor was currently homeless, and had requested to stay the night. The victim told deputies Proctor was under the influence at the time. When the victim asked Proctor to leave, he did, but then came into the home again through the back door without her permission.

The arrest report says Proctor became irate and armed himself with a kitchen knife. Deputies say Proctor began to shout “Everyone is going to die.” The arrest report says he attempted to strangle the victim with a knife in his hand. That’s when she locked herself in her bedroom. There were three other victims hiding in another room.

Deputies took Proctor into custody, none of the victims were injured.
